  2. i've never seen a dragon boat race. i have to find out where there's one close by.

Over there in the States, I think rowing prevails as it is traditionally promulgated by college athletic programs; hence, dragon boat racing may still be deemed as too foreign, and may now only begin to generate interest due the growing Asian populace. Aside from Florida, Southern Cali may already be hosting such competitions.
